Steering wheels & gear knobs 😊

anyone got some tips / names / links for a deep metal spoke steering wheel?
also a gear knob – both cheaper the better.

update: doesn’t matter about the gear knob. a solution was found. :slightly_smiling_face:

I have an original Team Voodoo shift knob, and collar, vintage 2000. Not decided on a price for that though.

If checking out steering wheels, be reeally wary of the knock-off brands.

oh god. :disappointed: thx for that. hard to believe they’re allowed to sell em.

Driftworks is a good source. Nardi is a great wheel (but pricey). OMP is bit motorsport focused. Then there is of course Momo. I believe the rubber pad on your Nardi should come off, but I’m not sure if yours has a seperate boss. If it does, you need that to fit a Nardi or Personal wheel. Personal is Nardi’s “budget” brand (its not really budget). A Momo wheel won’t necessarily fit that boss. You need a steering wheel and MX5-specific boss.

Mountney is a cheaper UK brand:

thanks
i like one of those mountney ones. but i’ll have a look at the others.
i thought i might have to buy some kind of adaptor as well. :disappointed:

How about a wheel from a Sega Rally arcade machine? I had to machine the centre to fit a 6 bolt boss but I like how it’s unique. And it’s strong as hell, has to be able to put up with hundreds of fat drunken twenty somethings swinging on it two at a time in arcades.
