- My model of MX-5 is: __NA 1.6
- I’m based near: __ Milton Keynes
- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __ Steering wheel
I am looking for a new steering wheel for my NA, the old one is falling apart and doesn’t look very nice so I want an upgrade. I am leaning towards the Momo wheels as I think they would complement the tan interior. I also don’t have power steering. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good steering wheel that goes well with a tan interior that has a classic look, I like both wooden and leather wheels. Thanks.

Without powersteering, you should avoid a tiny wheel, and aim for factory size, about 360mm.
Obviously the factory V-Specs came with a Nardi Classico, which you can buy from Driftworks.
But steering with a wooden steering wheel is very different from a leather steering wheel. And all the V-Specs had powersteering. I think life would be pretty awful with a manual rack and wooden wheel.
My M2-1002 came with the infamous manual steering, but they fitted it with the factory Momo. The problem with aftermarket Momos is, unless you go for one of the vintage designs, they look aftermarket. I think the Momo supplied to Mazda did a good job. At one time you could buy them from Mazda for an utterly bargain price. And they look better with the crash pad fitted.
