Stone leather seat recolouring

Fitted some stone leather seats at the weekend, but they haven’t been cared for as much they could have been.
There’s rubbing on the drivers bolster and the passenger seat could do with a bit of tlc, I cant leave them as they are do Mazda do a leather restoration dye or is it a specialist that I need to bring them up to standard?

Any advice greatly received.
Drivers bolster pictured, is the worst area.

Ideally, you’d be better getting them professionally repainted. I’ve had my red LE seats redone, worth every penny.

Someone like Furniture Clinic can do a colour-matched paint, based on a swatch off the bottom of the seat.

You can’t redye leather, you can only paint it. For perfect blend, an airbrush is used, but a sponge will work on a small area like that. After the damage in painted, it needs to be sealed to stop it comeing off again. The sealer is glossy. To tone that down, a satin coat this applied on top of the glossy clear. But it will wear away with time, as will the glossy coat and the paint. So eventually it will need to be redone, depending how much wear the car gets. Dealers like it to tart up a car for the forecourt. To give the best chance for the paint to adhere, the seat needs to be cleaned, not just with soap, but also solvents.

Personally I think its better to do yourself than pay someone. Its an easy job that just needs time and patience. The specialist will get a great looking job done quickly, but they won’t spend the time on it.
