Stormforce car cover

Two days ago I phoned up Monsoon and asked several questions about their Stormforce cover.  One of which was “did the cover have to be completely dry and put on a completely dry car?”  The response was no, the cover could be folded up wet and refitted wet.

I received the cover today and the instructions say "If wet, allow to dry thoroughly before refitting. The company’s response to that when I phoned them just now was “I have been putting my cover away wet and refitting it wet for 5 years now with no problems.”

Obviously if I do keep the cover I would make sure the car is clean and dry prior to refitting but making sure the cover is completely dry would be problematic.

Any thoughts much appreciated.

If you liken it to putting a groundsheet or awning away (camping/caravanning) when wet what will happen? Folding a wet hood down on a car, what will happen? Mould or algae may form, of course depending how long it’s left like that.

I’ve done plenty of the above (caravanning) and never left a canvas/plastic awning or sheeting folded wet, they do need to aired properly to dry.

I can only say these car covers whatever the make/material need to be treated in the same way.
