Can you let me know how you get on, by pure coincidence a mate at work today has recomended to me that i should get a wind blocker.,
He has one on his MG & says it makes a big difference to the wind flow & he recommended a black mesh one similar to that on the Mazda parts web site… i would be interested what you decide.
Ian, thanks for posting the photo - I definitely want a black one now! [;)]
For information, I had a reply from the Ebay buyer who’s listed as having bought one - he says this :
So it is a full style bar & windbreak, and by the sound of it a bloody good one!
Dave’s comment about the folding glass has made me wonder, though - when you compare the pics of Dave’s to the pic on the Ebay listing, it does look a bit different (no obvious hinges at the base of the glass), so I’m not sure whether the glass folds. I’ll ring them next week at some point, I think - there’s nothing like an actual person-to-person conversation to clear up any misunderstandings!
Have mailed the Ebayer back to ask that question … will also attempt to speak to someone from Mike Satur next week (when I get a chance - got a very busy few days at the beginning of the week).
Hmm. This, coupled with the evidence pointing towards their customer service being pretty poor (see earlier comments about almost complete lack of communication in response to enquiries) makes me rather glad that I decided against buying anything from them …
Hi thank you for your question. The windbreak is independent of other accessories and the hood when folded should always have the hood tonneau fitted. If this is not fitted then it is possible that any deflected wind would be channeled under the windbreak and not recommended. So always fit the hood tonneau when the hood is down to prevent this. The windbreak is sold independent of the tonneau and other accessories. If you haven’t a tonneau then you would need to fabricate a part from vinyl or similar to bridge the gap from the windbreak to the parcel shelf/tonneau studs. I hope this clarifies your query. Regards
If you look at the pictures of mine earlier in this thread with the Tonneau cover attached to the studs on the style bar bottom brace there is no gap for wind to get underneath. Mazda also recommend fitting the Tonneau cover when the hood is down. If you don`t want a Tonneau cover get hold of an old one & cut it so you are left with enough material to attach to the bar & fill the gap. Although i appreciate the one you bought differs to mine so i may be talking codswallop…Feel free to shoot me down.
Having said that if it`s not to your liking good luck with the refund [Y]
