Sun visor removal

 Hey all.
I am 6 6ft 3 inches and have a long body.  I would not like to remove seat foam as I took the seats apart to wash the covers and they came out very well, so it seems a shame to hack the foam in them apart.
I usually move the sun visor out the way whilst driving.  I have to be honest it is very annoying and gets in the way.

I am seriously thinking of removing the sun visor completely.

Where should I get blanking plates from?  A pair for £30 seems absolutely crazy!  All that is needed is a laser cutter.

I have seen kits with LED lights in the blanking plates for £40.  This seems temping as the interior lights are crap.  Are they easy to wire in?

It is a 1992 Jap import 1.6i.

I have just been in the garage and taken the sun visors off.  I pulled the fixing plates off and screwed them back in place.  To be honest it looks pretty good but obviously there is a hole in each plate.
