We’d love to come along. We’re new members and this will be our first run. We’re coming from Worksop so would probably be best to meet along the way. I thought the Longnor Craft shop would probably be a good bet. What time do you think you’ll be there?
Just a suggestion, you could meet the Sunday run at Grangemill where the B5056 crosses the A5012 (Via Gellia road approx 3.5 miles west of Cromford). This would be a shorter distance for you to travel before you join us, and you would have an extra 18 miles on the run (as compared to meeting at Longnor). We will be travelling on the B5056 towards Bakewell, and anticipate passing this junction at approx, 10.30 to 10.45. If you decide to meet us there please let us know via this forum so we know we have to look out for you near the Hollybush Inn as we can’t park the convoy there. Jan’s mobile number is at the top of the route plan (on this forum) if you need to contact us on Sunday morning.
Look forward to seeing you on the run (at Grangemill or Longnor),
We’ve had an email from Rick to advise he won’t be able to make the run. I can’t see his name on the forum list, but beleive he’s spoken to you directly at the bowling evening.
Just looking at the list for tomorrow and I’m pleased to see we will be welcoming some new members. Just in case this is the first time you have done a run with us we have some good practice guidelines within the club to assist with a smooth day. We occasionally send them out in the Newsletter and they are also listed on the forum here .
Forecast for Castletown 6 degrees, sunny periods, nil chance of “precipitation”! Think we’ll take that after this year so far! See you all in the morning, all late names so far added to the list. We will be a very large group so please take the time to look at convoy driving guidelines as suggested by Rich.
Is it tempting fate to polish the sunglasses!? Max has already has his spring polish!
Thanks very much to John and Janice for a really well organised run today. A lovely route with terrific scenery and huge snowdrifts too. I thought I knew this area quite well but lots of these roads were new to me.
A most enjoyable day out; my first run but it certainly won’t be my last. Thanks again.
Hear Hear, our first run and a great experience. Brilliant to meet so many friendly people and we’ll make sure we get to as many as we can from now on!
