Hi to anyone who reads this request. Can anyone help? I am looking to purchase my first MX5 MK1 in the near future and wondered what pitfalls, (if any) I should look out for eg mechanics, bodywork, electrics, mileage reasonable prices etc. Should I purchase a 1.6 or 1.8? My guide price is no more than £2000 and if I can get one cheaper then all the better to be able to upgrade certain areas. I have been just looking on Ebay motors as a starting point. Any advice around the above would be much appreciated. Many Thanks

2K will get you an excellent MK1 right now if you take your time & walk away from the sheds. Make sure you buy one without rusty sills & rear arches.

Heres one that caught my eye recently - includes a hardtop which could be sold for at least £300 if you didnt need it.
