So im looking at entering next years Mx5 race series but im struggling to find anywhere local to me that can either race prep cars or have pre-built race cars for sale? Im from the Guildford area in Surrey and so if anyone knows of somewhere locally then it would be much appreciated.

I would get in touch with the BRSCC(Ex Ma5da) guys - with around 100 MX5 race entries at each of their meets, they will know if anyone does.
Not too much discussion of racing on here - we seem to be road use with the odd track day(if we are very lucky) type of people.

I’ve raced MX5s for a while (done seasons in Max 5, 5 Club and now in the BRSCC ) - all with a mk1.
I built my car with my dad and we run it together on our own but the vast majority of guys run with a team, which can build, maintain and run you during the race weekend.
The following website exists which lists all the big teams, different teams run different cars, some have a presence in the Mk1s and the Mk3s, some just Mk3s, others just Mk1s, depends what you want to do.

I don’t think any of them are on your door step but many aren’t too far away - what championship are you looking at doing? as above, the BRSCC is the biggest by far, this year we have had circa 50 mk1s at each event

My son entered the BRSCC this year. Some useful stuff on his web site about what’s involve, costs etc It will always be more expensive than you think :-)
