I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __‘Suspension Arm Pin or Brush Excessively Worn’ - both Nearside and Offside Front.
Have been going to Minimax in Heaton Chapel for 3 years for basic servicing. They said they got the part, but they couldn’t fit it and said we’d need to go to the Mazda Dealership. Can that be right?! I’m hoping to find an independent who’ll do it. Minimax are primarily an exhaust and tyre place, so I’m hoping a dedicated repair garage might be able to do it. Or is this an ‘official dealer only’ repair?
Any thoughts or recommendations very welcome. Thank you!
I’ve had bits of work done (not on my MX5) by VW World in Stockport. Despite the name, they seem to have a variety of different makes and models in their workshop whenever I call in there.
It’s highly likely the bolt securing the rear of the lower arm to the subframe is seized solid. Unsurprised they’re running the other way as fast as they can, it’s a specialist job for someone who has done it before.
Thanks Mick and Duratec - yes, I think both front arms need replacing.
Stockport Mazda have quoted me 950. I’m going to try VW World, AGH and Challeners. But I doubt they’ll do it for less than 600 and I might bite the bullet this time and just pay extra for the dealership. And, then, look into going to Nelson to the specialist in the future.
Thank you everybody for your time and suggestions!
