Sussex Downs National rally and Duxford Air Museum and tour Suffolk 4th - 9th July 2020

A Visit to the National Rally at Claydon on the 4th & 5th July and then onto Duxford Air Museum on the 6th, followed by a few days in Suffolk.

We have drawn up the following itinerary for this trip but of course you can adapt this to suit yourselves.

We would propose to meet at Pease Pottage Services on Saturday 4th July for a departure at around 10.00am to try and get round the worse of the M25 early.

We have booked at the Premier inn at Buckingham, London Road MK18 1SH for the Saturday 4th  and Sunday 5th July.  The reason for booking this Premier Inn is it is only around 20 minutes from Claydon for the National Rally, and if we get there early enough on Saturday,  Buckingham town centre is only around a 10 minute walk or there is the NT at Stowe which is around 15 minutes drive.  Current costs Flexi £126.00 for the 2 nights or £95.00 semi flexi  ( Semi flex you pay on booking but can cancel up to 14 days before arrival or Flexi pay on arrival and can cancel up to 1pm on the day).  It is also on the route for leaving for Duxford on the Monday.

Monday 6th July leave Buckingham around 9.30am for the approx hour and half drive to Duxford depending on traffic.  Spend the day at Duxford. Leave around 4.00pm for approx 30 mile drive on A11 and A14 to Bury St Edmunds.  We have booked at the Premier Inn at Bury St Edmunds The Church Yard, Raingate Street IP33 1RX, for 3 nights 6, 7th & 8th and current costs for the 3 nights are £297.00 semi flexi or £330.00 Flexi.  We would be coming back on the Thursday but you can extend your stay as required.  This Premier Inn is located centrally within Bury St Edmunds and has its own car park and air conditioning in all rooms. Attractions near by in Suffolk are NT Melford Hall, Ickworth House,  and Flatford Mill and Bridge Cottage where John Constable painted the Hay Wain, and the Dads Army Museum at Thetford, so plenty to do for 2 to 3 days.

Once you have booked can you let us know or what part you may want to do.  The Premier Inn at Bury St Edmunds is not very large so booking early would be advised.  If you do not wish to attend this trip can you also please let us know as 13 is around the max we can have.
