Tesco Selling Castrol GTX 10W 40 Cheap

In store Tesco have Castrol GTX 10W/40 at £6 for 2 litres.

That’s £12 to change the oil in a Mk1 or Mk2 or 1.6 Mk2.5.

It is a semi synthetic with no fancy addative package and none of the above cars need a fancy addative package.

Not the first choice in 1.8 MK2.5 or Mk3.

Good deal if you are not an oil snob.

Thanks for that.  Always keen to grab a deal.

Now that my replacement engine has decided to develop a similar oil drinking habit to my original one, and while I ponder what to do about that, I’m looking out for cheap-but-decent oil for more regular refills, rather than the posh stuff I’ve been using until recently.

 

Bah.  Stopped in at Tesco on the way home.  Shelf was bare.  Sold out already. :frowning:

We still use the 10w40 semi synth from Motaquip but it ain’t that cheap anymore.

I assume most Tesco stores will only have a few pots of this so it is a buy it if you are passing Tesco.

That’s unlike the Halfords twice a year deal when you can usually buy a years supply for your own and other cars you look after.
