Richard and Vicki are organising the July Sunday run from Chocks Away Cafe to the Midland Air Museum near Coventry Airport. Basically from one airport to another, hence the title!
We’ll meet at Chocks Away at Nottingham City Airport (Tollerton Lane, Tollerton, Nottingham NG12 4GA) by 09:00 ready to depart at 09:30.
The route will be MX-5 friendly roads with a probable tea/coffee stop in the middle (details on the day).
We’ll aim to arrive at Midland Air Museum (Rowley Rd, Coventry CV3 4FR) by 12:30ish where you’ll be able to get lunch in the cafe.
If anyone wants to look around the many aeroplanes on display then there is a charge of £8.95 per person. The museum team can also give us a guided tour as a group for which there’s no extra charge, but if enough people would like this I’ll need to book it. I think that the entry fee is just pay-on-the-day.
Please let us know below if you’re interested in coming and also whether you’d like a guided tour at the museum or to look around by yourselves. We’ll need to give Chocks Away an idea of numbers too.
If you have any queries, post them here or call/text Richard on 07580 183985
Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible. Fingers crossed for a lovely sunny day!
Thank you
Richard and Vicki

Brilliant to see so many signed up for the run, thank you!
I had a drive out in the sunshine yesterday to recce just over half of the route. We have some lovely MX5-friendly roads to enjoy so fingers crossed for good weather!
Hi Richard and Vicki,
We are new to the club having just bought our MX5. Please could you include us on this run please as we would love to join you.
Thank you
Martyn and Jay.
I spoke to Chocks Away last week and they aren’t able to open before 09:30 this Sunday. So I suggest that we still meet there at 09:00 and leave by 09:30, you just won’t be able to get breakfast at the airport, that’s all.
The planned coffee stop is only an hour or so into the run, so we can top up on caffeine and calories then!
Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible then. Great to have some new members on the list too!
