Lou and I are just back from a busy meeting at Blyton with the lovely Richard Usher and our suppliers for next year.
Assuming there might be one or two knocking around that enjoyed this years’ Blyton Bash enough to maybe fancy popping back for a ‘part-deux’ or indeed a few that have read our ramblings in STHT and fancy coming along to see what all the fuss was about we’ve sat down at length with Nick D and Mazda on Track and come up with a variation on a theme, something new but still familiar.
So, we’ll start a thread here and drip feed info as the New Year progresses, and just to prove we were there today:
Apologies for the new family roller skate in the picture, but my Mk1 is now a permanent track toy and won’t see a public road again.
Next post from us will be the new Blyton 1-3 logo…
Jon that is brilliant, goodluck to both you and Lou,it;s great that you take a meeting like this in your stride, if I can be of any help just let me know,
Hi Jon cant wait hope Blyton is going to be a regular event for the owners club .always thought your Mk 1 would end up as a full time track car ,see you next year and you can let me know how your “Splitter” worked out . Jim.
Great news, really looking forward to it, although I have a feeling you may be oversubscribed after last years success, got all the go faster stickers on the car now, MX5 OC Motorsport, Guinness world record breaker and Mission motorsport. Now I just have to convince myself it’s safe to take Port Froid flat out without lifting. It must be, Roddie says so. Will try and get some practice before the big event.
Rather than rest on our laurels, we want to improve, modify and tweak the event, I just felt that to call it Blyton II (Blyton Part Deux was mooted around for a while too)was to say, “it’s like last year”.
I’m far too pedantic for my own good TBH and have been fighting over the name for a couple of months, in which time Louise has met with and booked the marquee suppliers, food vendors, disco etc etc…
Good job she can rely on me to sort the important stuff then
Day light would be great, a go out on track would be nice also this time, we just never thought we would be that busy to be honest Jon
Good so he rang
He as been getting the wagan sorted so both sides come out rather than one, so it’s a bit easier to work with, with it being mobile, wait until you see the unit .he as spent some money over the last couple of years puting all this together, the home base is something else buddy.
Hope the new job is going well and have you moved yet?
