3rd brake light not working, the other 2 ‘normal’ ones are ok.
Anything to check before dismantle and replace?

You could see the other thread first, same problem a few days ago.
If your NC has a luggage rack wiring harness in there, I’d recommend doing what I did in that thread shared above as a first test.
A lot of info/threads around common failure points for the third brake light seem to relate more to the PRHT than the soft top, which makes it tricky to pin down any solid troubleshooting steps.
But if you’ve got a multimeter you should be able to determine if it’s the brake light unit itself that’s failed or a wiring issue. If you’re not getting 12v to either of the connectors (the luggage rack harness or one-step back connector) then it’ll be an issue further back in the circuit.
My friend has resolved his issue with an apparently dud 3rd brake light. When he bought his car, it had a boot rack… which he discarded.
Turns out the car has an extra connection for a remote 3rd brake light… so it was just a matter of unplugging and then plugging into the other socket. Job sorted.
