Hi, i was wondering whats peoples opinion on bonnet stripes, i was thinking of having 3 grey stripes, one thick in the middle followed by two smaller ones either side of it, with a small gap inbetween. starting from the front bumper going to the rear.
its a mk 2.5 sunset silver, thought a grey colour would suit.
well, I think you’ll find some people like them and some people don’t.

You may have done this already, but if you type “MX5 Stripes” into Google and then when the results come up, click on the ‘Images’ tab you 'll get loads of photos which may give you some further inspiration 
My Beastie (3.5 Roadster) is black so I am not sure I could easily visualise a stripe on it, but certainly on the lighter shades it would work. I have focused on the interior with having the dash, steering wheel spokes, centre console , headrests and a few other bits sprayed brilliant white which I love and everyone else hates lol.
They work on some cars but not on others, mustang, ford GT def work, chavvy fiesta definitely not.
I’ve seen a couple of NB s with them I quite like them but not something I’d do. The above NA looks great with them.
I think a light grey would work well on silver, it needs to be dark enough to be noticeable but not too dark that they stand out too much.
I like them myself, makes the car a little different to the norm.
This is kind of what i want it to look like - paint skills!
Go for it, whats to lose, take them off if you don’t like them. I put rondels on my MK1, not to everyones taste but I like them and when I get fed up with them or they start to look tatty they will just peel off.

Can you suggest a website to buy a decent quality vinyl?
I striped my mx/miata/eunos not long after I bought it last year .I used a local wrapping firm 2hrs work and materials £ 60 job done . I have decided to have the car repainted in orig colours and change the colour of the stripes to match the hard top I bought just after striping the car . Colours will be green [ hu code ] and brightest yellow for the stripes and hard top , hopefully to be joined by mini lights/coppies/ robos rb’s with yellow centres and polished rims . No I’m not 21 [ wish I was ] but 68 and think that combo will work very sim to early lotus colours I know but its mine ! comments listened to or read

Years ago, I striped a 91; 10" central stripe, 1" gap then 2 1" stripes.
The rear is hard to do. After 4 years or so, I got bored of the look.
