Thoughts on Mk4 ND 1.5 SE+

Hi everyone, I’ve been offered a great deal on a 19 plate Mk4 ND (1.5 SE+). Does anyone have any thoughts on these? Specifically the SE+ spec. It’s got AC but that’s about it, I’m not sure I’d be that bothered.

Any help would be greatly appreciate!

Well, it will drive as well as any ND 1.5l, superbly!  Otherwise if you can live with a basic radio, no “Infotainment” or SatNav etc., then I would say “go for it”.  Why not check out the Mazda UK site for a full spec list for that model and for the higher spec ones and see if there’s anything missing you can’t live without.  Good luck!

Well I bought it! Drive lovely, clutch steering and gear change very nice.

Well done!  Now enjoy it and have fun, fun, fun!!!

Thanks, need to sell the Mk3 now though!

Sorry, can’t help you with that!

Cracking engine and great car! Less is more! Enjoy it!

I’ve had my ND with the 1.5 litre engine for just over a month now and it is a very impressive engine. I’m keeping the revs below 3000 rpm until it’s properly bedded in, but even at this stage it’s got plenty of zest and character. A good choice, congratulations!

Less electronic bits to go wrong than the more expensive trimmed models much nearer to the original cars.

I was tempted to lease one and just return it for a new one every three years or so.

HI Matthew, we purchased a arctic white  2019 model mx5 1.5 132hp sel nav + at end of September the car was built on 13th October, it has sat nav, crouse control, heated seats, climate control heating a truly high spec. Great value and an average mpg of 50

I’ve had my 19 plate SE+ in arctic white for a week today and I think these represent a real sweet spot in the range. It has everything you need and nothing you don’t! It’s a pure MX5 and I love it. Mine has black wheels and looks great. Like you, I got a great deal and couldn’t say no. Enjoy!
