So, I’m in the middle of fitting my newly blasted and coated wishbones so thought I’d replace all the joints.
All going well until it comes to tightening the nut on the Top Ball Joints.
Track Rods and bottom BJ went fine
The shaft is just spinning.
I’ve jacked up from the bottom ball joint but it’s still spinning.
What’s the secret method please?
Thanks
you got the shaft caked in grease ???
clean it down try again

No - deliberately bone dry for exactly this reason
Hi Fraz
You will need to lever the upper control arms down with the knuckle supported - I usually use a long trolley jack handle wrapped in a cloth. Pressure on the tapered shaft should lock it enough to tighten the nut. Obviously any corrosion or thread damage will make this process harder.
Did those transponder chips ever turn up buddy?
Cheers

I was beaten by a duff thread in the end, on the nut.
Back to the Factors tomorrow as it’s a strange M12 - 1.25 pitch
No, the transponders never arrived or I’d have sent them back to you and been in touch buddy
