Today, I learnt a cat box DOES fit in an MX5

Yesterday I accidentally sold my Audi TT mk3 and bought a 2018 Mazda MX5 mk4… loving it so far, the best “silly decision” I’ve ever made, you only live once - nice to have my mid life crisis in my late 30s!

I only commute between Woodford / Chingford so it doesn’t seem such a “silly decision” tbh, loving driving it…

Post pandemic (!) what are the advantages of joining this club?

That’s nice  The MX-5 isn’t all about speed, 0-60 times and all that, although they are pretty brisk, but just about fun…! I’ve only been a member for a few months. When Pandemic restrictions are released a bit more there will be discounts to various car meets, National Rally’s etc… You’ll probably link up quite quickly with other members in your area too… I’d say just have a browse around and familiarise yourself with what the MX-5OC offers…!

Hello Alex, and welcome. A fortunate accident you have had I think . I had my mid life crisis start in my early 30s too. I am over 50 now and it’s still happening .

Very nice RF you have bought yourself, the black mirrors and wheels look great. It you want to play with the look a little bit you could think about smoke black side indicators.

Doing that wouldn’t suit my Snowflake White MX5 though :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Ah lovely car you have there! My first Audi TT (mk2) was white with black wheels, so I know I’ll have to make an effort to keep my MX5 clean though :joy:

I’m trying to justify the “accident”… I don’t need much boot space anymore (I’m a music teacher, but don’t gig like I used to constantly in my 20s). I can fit my weekly shop, and being the RF it’s as practical as I’ll need it to be for the winter months commute to school too :joy:

Thank you! If you love your MX-5, you’ll clean your MX-5, but nothing beats driving an MX-5… especially an ND, not that I’m biased in any way, shape, or form!

So far, any excuse to go for a drive - my partner and I went for McDonald’s drive-in this morning with the top down, despite it being far too cold :joy:

Thankfully they have good heaters for when the top is down!! Scenic routes have become so common for me - Aldi is like 2 miles away but always seems to be about a 15 mile round trip

Welcome Alex from not far from you in Chelmsford. My son has a Mk3 TT , it’s a very good capable car , but if he gets the chance to take the MX 5 he will. He says the MX5 always feels special , much more engaging to drive .

Like your RF , very nice . Might see you around Essex .
