Just ordered a full set of TR1s for my mk1
With them being asymmetrical, would you expect to get near side and offside tyres?
I know Rainsports with a similar pattern do not come as NS OS fitments, so I assume these are ok.

They are only “handed” which is partly the point so they may have “outside” or summat moulded on.

So it looks like they are one way on NS and reversed on OS is this corect ?
Yes rainsports are the same, inside or outside. Therefore the tread patterns run opposite either side of the car. That’s correct for assymetric tyres.
