traction control and abs lights

hi all

i have not used my car for 2 months, went to use it the other day, and could tell the battery was low

so i charged the battery

used the car today, and it runs fine (fab)

however, the abs and traction light come on

it starts fine, then runs fine, with no warning lights

then , sometime after using the brakes, the warning lights come on

i’ll take it for a long run tomorrow, and get my mate to reset any fault codes

i dont believe there is any issue with the brakes,

is there anyway to reset ?  i have disconnected the battery for an hour, to no effect

will try it all night tonight

if not, does anyone have any suggestions ??

cheers in advance

Can I have ABS sensor in the sweepstake?

possibly!!

I have thought that as I have not used the car in a while, a bit of rust creeps in, which actually squashes the sensor, which makes it stick out a bit further…

had that once on a beemer… I took both rear wheels off, took out the rear sensors, wet and dried the holes the sensors were in,to remove the rust, this allowed the plastic sensors to go back to their original shape !!

Not sure about the ABS light but you have to turn the steering to both lock points ( fully left and right ) then turn the ignition off and on again to reset the traction control system after the battery has been disconnected.

When the battery runs low or has been disconnected the ABS & Traction Control warning lights will always show…start the engine & turn the steering to full lock both ways, this should remove the warning lights…they should also disappear after 4 or 5 ignition cycles.

If they’re still there after trying these 2 options, then you may have a problem…

I now have a code :-}

C1954

low pressure sensor on master cylinder or position sensor on the brake pedal

haha

all sorted

a new battery and a new brake pedal switch

the battery was the cause of the lights coming on, and the switch due to not using it enough
