Turbo NA handling upgrades advice please

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __NA VR TD04
  2. I’m based near: __BATH
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __HANDLING

Hi, newb here.
Just purchased my first miata. Already Turboed. Not after chasing anymore power. But handling wise, it all looks to be original besides the Tien overcoils. So…
I might take it on track once a year, but just for fun. But was just wondering what the goto handling upgrades are. Polly Bush, ARB, Braces etc.
All advice gratefully recieved

P.S. only just driven it home from purchase.
Just planning future upgrade on the old girl.

Good tyres, full alignment( fast road ) servicing, check ball joints ,drop links and bushes including the sway bars, brakes serviced correct (yes it does make a difference) bracing ( Rear should be standard and strut brace.
And that should give a happy middle ground to be a road and odd track day.

If that were mine I’d follow Mazda_members advice and then take it on the track with new OEM brake pads and brake fluid and see how she goes as is. Then I’d address any short comings I found. I’ve had an NBFL for four years and not come anywhere close to needing any performance upgrades because I am still not driving her anywhere near the limit of what she is really capable of.

Thanks, as you say. See how it feels as standard.
Coming from a CZT, as standard, it nearly fell over.
A bit worried about old rubber bits though.
Would it be worth a full set of polly bushes?
Then take it from there?

And the can of worms as now been opened…“personally” from all the years of working on these and putting them right…rubber all the way…I am not a lover of poly from hands on fixing the aftermath it can cause, plus the ride on the road is harsh ,because our tax money pays for the so great super smooth roads we all enjoy.

Agree saving my sheckles for a complete set of the more durable and compliant OEM bushes which should last the better part of another 100k miles / 20 years on the road and the occasional bit of track work. If building a trailer queen for track only then the poly bushes ‘might’ be worth it, but then why not go the whole hog and go for bronze bushes and rose joints ?
