Twin USB Flush Mounted Sockets

  1. My model of MX-5 is: Mk 3.5__
  2. I’m based near: Preston __
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Twin USB Flush Mounted Sockets__

Further to my earlier post I am acquiring the parts I need to install my Sony Head Unit. I want to put a Twin USH Flush Mounted Socket in the Tray and have bought a “Baolongking USB Panel Flush Mount Cable 1 Meter 3.3ft Dual USB 3.0 Extension USB Mount, Dash Mount, Flush Mount, Panel Mount”. Having used as a lead in my wife’s car I find the Phone connection keeps breaking up when the cable is moves, This is despite the physical connection to the Sockets being quite firm. It could be a dogy cable but not a good start. I have checked out previous posts and non use twin USB Sockets. Plus many of the makes quoted are no longer available. So, any recommendations for a Twin USB Flush Mounted Socket that supports Android Auto? Regards Glenn

Ive been using a Baolongking single usb socket for a year with out any issue’s, the other usb is in the glove box with a memory stick with music on. Sounds as if you have a faulty connection.

Thank you for the info and picture. It does appear the connector is faulty in my wife’s Astra. So, ordered a Baolongking single usb socket which I will install in the Glove Box for the phone connection. Also ordered a LBSC USB 3.0 & HDMI Flush Mount Cable, USB Flush Dash Panel Mount Cable which I will mount in the Glove Box. Question, where in the glove box did you mount the Panel Mount? I assume your glove box rotates like mine so a bit bothered about chaffing etc.

The Sony supplied USB cable is loose in the glove box with a memory stick plugged in, its works well. The Single usb socket fits perfectly along side the seat heaters. Does this help?

Yes thanks. Once we get better weather I will make a start and post progress.
