My model of MX-5 is: __2.0 ND4 Exclusive Line soft top
I’m based near: __High Wycombe
I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __ALH headlights
Car is new to me, first registered 31 Aug 23. Drove it for the first time at night. Is this model supposed to have the Adaptive Headlights? It may just have been the HLS working, but it looked like it may have been ALH when diving - seemed that patches on light appeared after I passed oncoming cars on their side. I had thought ALH was only on the Homura spec cars?
Does your model have two round reverse lamps integrated into the rear light clusters as oppose to the reverse lamp in the bumper? Why have you asked about 2023 cars?
Yes, ALH is wonderful tech, the operation of the lights never ceases to amaze me and being as its a Mazda, very unlikely to go wrong.
As per OP, it was registered end of August '23 so a 23 model year? It has the smaller infotainment screen. Reversing lights are in the bumper (not that I’ve seen them on - there are what looks like a light on either side, the RHS one also houses the fog light bulb)
My September '23 reg Exclusive Line had ALH. To be sure, look for ALH options in the MZD Connect menus or start the car with the headlamps on and observe the beams, cars with ALH will self test the headlamps by moving the beams up and down.
Ah was just going to correct myself but you replied first - I thought I read (obvs not HLS) there was a lesser system that did a traditional whole auto high beam/low beam thing, but I guess not.
I have a Audi A3 that does a similar seft test on start up, but that has no auto system at all
