Which is the best tyre dressing on the market.A tyre dressing that gives the tyres that wet look.Any ideas.
Thanks
Autoglym, depending how you use it you can have glossy or matt look.
In the past on different cars I have used :
TYRE FOAM : good because easy to apply - just spray and leave - can be applied wet or dry.
ARMOUR IT ALL BACK TO BLACK : fairly good, still easy to apply but requires a bit more elbow grease
Both are fine but dont always last as long as some of the better makes.
MER, MEGUIARS or as mentioned above AUTOGLYM may take a little more care and attention applying, but will almost always last longer IMHO.
Now I am still to confirm this but, two people that fited tyers for me have told be NOT to dress them. But just to give them a good scrub. The point of view pot forwards is that in long term use the speed at witch the rubber degrads faster with the use of tyer dressing.
Moved to Cleaning & Detailing forum due to topic content.
I use Turtle Wax Wet and Black tyre dressing.
I find it easy to use and gives a wet and black finish
I show my car so want it to look good and this does the job better than most.

Thanks to you all, yours looks great Andy.
I use meguiars, which looks good, lasts for ages, and is easy to apply.
Most proper dressings (I mean come in a bottle, and you put on a pad/cloth) will give similar results, but they will all be better than (most) aerosol products.
Spray products can be awkward to apply, especially when it a little bit blowy, and you’ll end up having to wipe down your wheels again.
A cheap way to make tour tyres look good is to wipe them over with some Fairy washing-up liquid on an old sponge. Easy to apply, gives a good satin finish, doesn’t cost much (the wife pays!) and, no, you don’t leave a trail of bubbles when it rains!
Andy,
Where did you get those alloys from they are giving me palpitations! Very nice indeed.
They are the alloys from a mk2.5 Sport…personally my fav Mazda wheel
auto glym is normally my first polish brand but for tyres i find merguirs is better lasts longer to
Hi Mathew,
Glad you like my wheels they are my pride and joy. They are from a MK2.5 SPORT.
I bought them on Ebay in a complete state, more blisters than paint.
I had them sand blasted then spent many hours in the garage sanding them smooth, spraying them with high build primer then wet & dry sanding to get them perfect before applying a special metalic silver and 4 coats of 2k laquer.
Just to keep you palpitating here are some more photos. [:)]Or if yiu look in STHT december issue my car is on pages 26-27 so you can pin it up and palpitate some more[:D]

I beg to differ Ben - I like polishing my car, but Andy takes it to the next level (and my hat would go off to him for it, except, I don’t wear a hat…)

Note I said OUR as my wife polishes the car as much as me and its driven daily even in the snow this week.
Did you see it featured in Decembers issue of STHT.pages 26-27.?
We were well chuffed to have an article done in STHT ( WHAT AN HONOUR)
We will be at many shows with it again this year so if you see us come and have a chat.
Just making a few more changes in readiness for the show season.

Must try the pad/cloth types - the aerosol overspray attracts the brake dust, and the alloys look filthy the first time it is driven. Also better for my environmental conscience (which has to work overtime to make allowance for having 10,000cc of cars between the Mrs & I !!!)
