Tyre Pressures - Winter vs Summer

So in the winter I had my tyre pressures set to 29psi cold, and they didn’t get above 30-31psi after some spirited driving.

Now we are having some warm(ish) weather, I’ve noticed they climbed up to 34-35psi after a drive, or even 32-33 sitting in the sun. So have let them down to 29psi when warm/hot, as climbing to 33psi or more makes for a bumpy ride.

I understand they will be 27psi or less when cold and will add air them when the weather gets cooler. Any thoughts?

Don’t touch them, naturally the temp will get higher driving in summer, we’d be forever reaching for the tyre inflators when it fluctuates.

Just as a side issue, I suppose you should check your pressures early morning if your car is in the sun as if you’re side-on to the sun, one side is going to be appreciably hotter than the other so “cold” pressure will be higher. .

So I should drive with the higher pressures with reduced ride comfort? Nah I have a tyre inflator handy, I’ll drop the pressures!

We need a tyre expert on this🤔

Cold pressures are cold pressures. This allows for warming up - at which point the tyre must be at its optimum profile. 31 or 32 psi, who knows?
I don’t get the logic of dropping hot tyres down to 29 psi. They must then be under inflated.
