Tyre size question - 195/45/15's

I’ve sourced a set of 6.5j 4x100 wheels. I have two
195/50/15’s and two 195/45/15’s. I’m assuming this would be ok if I put
the 45’s on the front and 50’s on the back? Can anyone advise please?

Hi

You haven’t said what the car is, but if its got ABS the different size tyres may cause the ABS to flag up a warning, although its not very likely as the size difference is not great.  Aesthetically the taller tyre should be on the back, but handling wise it will cause a very mild shift towards oversteer.  If you are used to rear wheel drive characteristics you probable will correct automatically, but it is a point to bear in mind.

Thanks Alan, it’s exactly the same car you have (August 2000 Mk2 1.8)
