Still no luck, quite frustrating. Mind you doesn’t help with snow & my ‘mini-me’ mechanic having to spend time mending other cars…including one of his which I was driving when starter motor bust !!!

right: we’ve done gunk, which was my first guess. I’m imagining this is something simple and old-school. Kind of a vinegar-and-brown-paper type of thang that’s been handed down by the gods of engine bays…!
