Under Bonnet Fixtures/Fittings

  1. My model of MX-5 is: NB Euphonic 1.8
  2. I’m based near: Newcastle
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Under Bonnet Fittings

Hi, I am looking at replacing parts shown in the picture below:

I have found the Radiator Top Mounting parts (see below).
Radiator Top Mounting, MX5 Mk2 2.5 (mx5parts.co.uk)

Everything else including the Nuts/Bolts/Rubbers and other couple fittings I can’t seem to find

Also, since I am not mechanically minded, I am unsure as to what part the engine is labelled in green. I have saw this re-painted etc with some nice work being done and I am looking to get ideas. For example:

Thanks!

I’d be inclined to grind away any rust on the brackets and paint myself. Ok if you can buy new, not much money.:+1:
The part indicated in green is a cam cover. Some owners paint there own with the appropriate paint or even buff them up to get that polished aluminium look.
Takes a good deal of prep for paint or buffing.
I once did the panel in front of the radiator and the manifold cover (buffed them) looked good.

My camcover looked like that and I removed the furring with Raceglaze Alubright Oxidation Remover. OK, it’s not a polished finish, but it’s back to nice clean alloy.
Just be careful where it goes and rinse it off carefully.

Interesting…

I don’t particularly like advertising stuff, but here’s a link to the Raceglaze website, and an example from Detailing World -

They recommend you coat it with Jet Laq afterwards, but I haven’t and the finish is holding up fine.
