Can anyone help me buy and install the chip that updates my satnav in my march 2018 registered mx5 RF , I dont feel confident about doing it myself even with the assistance of you tube and I don’t want to pay through the nose to get a Mazda main dealer to install it…I’m based in north Essex and my mob is removed use PM to contact ,thanks
If you just want a new Satnav SD card then they can be bought online
However it would be better to buy a new usb hub to get Carplay/Android Auto. First you ŵill need to install the latest firmware, you can pm me for that.
When the maps needed updating on mine I went to eBay and paid a tenner, (I think) for a new SD card. That worked just fine, though, as it’s eBay, your mileage may vary.

The updated SD card was a decent upgrade for my 2018 car. I did quickly go and stump up the cash for the car play upgrade though.
As others have said, buy a UK/EU map card for MZD Connection from eBay. Open the flap, old SD card out, new SD card in. That’s literally it, you definitely won’t need any assistance installing it, it’s plug and play.

I had an offer of £25 accepted on one of these. Just swap the Sat Nav SD card as per instructions and the Sat Nav worked instantly. The guy selling them was very pleasant to deal with. Don’t bother doing it the costly and difficult Mazda lap top method.
