Upgrade advise

  1. My model of MX-5 is: 1996 mk1 na
  2. I’m based near: West Midlands
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: performance upgrades

Hi guys, I have recently purchased my first mx5, it’s a mk1 1996 na. I’m keen on having a supercharger fitted, but at the moment my car is as original as it was back in 1996.
I was wondering what you guys would advise to upgrading before fitting a supercharger. Thanks

Only the exhaust engine wise

Brakes, alignment etc in 100% condition

What exhaust wound you recommend? If I were to upgrade the breaks what are the best ones to go for?

1.8 brakes should be fine for what you need. There is a limit to how much power is possible by supercharging.

Exhaust is down to taste. With a supercharger, the stock exhaust is fine.

That’s great thank you

Would something like this work?

I would fit a 4-2-1 manifold and a trackdog manifold blanket.

The manifold gets the extra gasses away quicker and the blanket cuts dow heat transfer to the s/c. I did this when I supercharged my NB.
Stock brakes will be fine as long as the fluid is fresh and the pads are good quality
