Used Car Warranty

 Hi
It has been recommended to me that when I take ownership of my second hand MX5 it would be worth while purchasing at least a years used car warranty to cover any mechanical and electrical faults which might arise. Whats anyone’s opinion on these? Is it a waste of money? Has anyone had any good/ bad experiences with any of the companies which provide this service?
Thanks in advance.

Personally I wouldn’t - it depends on the service/repair history of the car, and what kind of warranty comes with it (I presume this is from a dealer) - as long as it has a 3 month warranty to cover anything major going wrong as soon as you drive it away, I would save the money.

It has got 3 months warranty cover and a full service history. The company which has been recommended to me ( by a third party) is Warranty Direct. Anyone ever had any dealings with them?
Have to admit it sounds like a lot of money to spend (probably in the region of £300 for a year), on the off chance that if something does go wrong, it will actually be covered.

It all depends on the cove, but in most cases it just broken bits. This means that if it is just stoped working due to ware it is not coverd. You would be better off paying some one to look over the car before you pass any money accross.
