Unfortunately, someone decided to destroy my wing mirror last night, not a very fun surprise to find today! It shouldn’t be too difficult to fix but I’m still a bit gutted . It is the passenger side mirror adjacent to the pavement so clearly not an accidental bump.
Sorry to see this, I am not aware that MX-5’s are particularly targeted more or less than other vehicles, though soft tops and plastic rear window;s have always been vulnerable to petty tea leaves. Hope you get it sorted soonest.
I can remember as an adolescent taking my rage hormones out on street lamps or roads signs but never anyone’s obviously personal property.
That distinction is becoming much more blurred?
Sorry to see this. Mindless vandalism, based on the viewpoint that if the perpetrator can’t have nice things, ten nobody else should either.
Sadly I believe that you’ll need to replace the whole mirror housing. They are supplied painted. Last time I bought one (from MX5parts) it was around £140…
youth of today maybe …?No respect of others property…or just some A/H that’s had a few too many…who knows they just just blame it on there mental well being …the worlds gone to pot…!
rant over sorry to see this… we had 8 cars done in one night a street from us they all got go faster stripes mirrors off …they been court and all they got was a telling off by the community warden makes me a little angry they know you carn’t do any thing to the little runts…!
Had a my car (not a MX-5) keyed a while ago. At the time, was only a 9 yr old standard Audi A3 but maybe looked nice as it’s kept clean & shiny. Maybe they thought it was a ‘fast one’? But it does have a personalised number plate too. Maybe that made it a target, with the (untrue) assumption I had more money than sense and also paid a lot for it (the plate, which was actually given to me)?
