Hi all
Unfolding the soft top after a winter folded up (I use a hard top then), I noticed the tiniest of fissures in the vinyl. Is there anything I can do to prevent it getting any worse? Anything I can put on it?
Thanks!!

The only thing that worked for me was a cycle repair kit patch.
TBH, the two cracks I got I deserved for operating the hood in freezing weather.
The hood is now due for replacement soon anyway, but the two patches have held.
Applied to the inside of the “fabric” with the rubber stuff you get.
I was lucky insofar the areas that cracked allowed me to use clamps and two bits of thick plastic to squeeze the patch overnight.
Hmm …
Had a look, there’s a lining there so I can’t get to the reverse of the roof bit itself. Has yours not got that? Or can you peel it back somehow?? Thanks
No,
Mine was a cheap single skin jobby that came with the purchase right enough.
Try this … worked a treat for me on my old hood before I replaced it. Repair lasted about 18 months.
You can get packs with patches in them as well. Search “neoprene glue”
Cheers!

I’ve used that for re-sticking shoe soles back on to the uppers as well as re-joining torn pond liners. Good stuff if the surfaces are clean and dry, but you need to be quick.
Hi , not sure of the nature of the split but could you use a silicon as used in the building trade, there is also a useful material called CT 1, This is not as workable as silocon, not as flexible, is exspensive (@£10 tube) is water proof even sticks to wet materials . Did a bodge of sticking the sole back on my work boot with this stuff and has held for at least 3 months of use thus far. Just an idea?
Thanks everyone for your helpful advice. I’ll do some research into the products recommended and give one of them a try, I think.
Diving suit repair kit. Great job.
