[Video] NC Cleaning drain holes tutorial

I was having a hard time trying to clean the drainholes on a NC / MK3 MX-5 so decided to use the knowledge I’d learnt scouring the Internet to make a video which I felt explained it in an understandable way (understandable to me at least).

I was told it is safer to push the cleaning brush up from the bottom as it reduces the risk of dislodging the drain hoses?

NO! You were misinformed.

Up from the bottom breaks or jams partly open the non-return flaps. Result = excessive tyre/road noise in the cabin and poor drain performance.

As Richard says, from my research most people say pushing from the bottom or pulling it backwards once it’s down the hole will damage the non-return flaps.
