I have been contacted by Peter McNichol, who some of you may remember as the MX5OC coordinator before handing over the reins to Ian Prosser.
Peter has reached out to me, as we are geographically close to Goodwood and he is asking if anyone is Solent Area can volunteer to help at Goodwood for the event given in the email below, which provides more detail.

My name is Peter McNicol past MX5OC Motorsport Co ordinator, I have spoken to Roger Mead who suggested that I contact you with regards to the E-mail below.
Mission Motorsport have an event at Goodwood on the 12th June and are desperate for volunteers to help with the event. I was hoping that you may know a few local members that would be willing to help. All the information is available in the text below, contact details are on the e-mail. Good morning,
Another shout for volunteers please to help with the Meyrick Cox Day on the 12th of June at Goodwood, Chichester. If you have already got back to me with your availability you should have had a short reply from me with finer details to follow. Still looking for another 15 volunteers please!
Roles ranging from event registration, fundraising, passenger loading, passenger unloading, helmet management, skid pan management, merchandise stand, staffing Lightning McQueen, catering & refreshments and set up on the 11th from 5pm - 8pm. A little something for everyone and the ability to switch between roles on the day.
Please see some rough timings for the event below.
Thursday 11th June
Advance party of Mission Motorsport staff will be arriving at 1730 to make a start on set up, please do let me know if you are able to join us from 1730 until circa 1930 with initial set up and organisation.
Friday 12th June
0700 - 0730 - Arrival and Registration
0730 - 0750 - Final set up
0750 - All in position, event ready
0800 - 0900 - Beneficiaries and drivers sign on
0840 - 0900 - Drivers brief in covered pit area
0900 - 1230 - Morning track activity & Skid Pan
1230 - 1330 - Lunch break, noise break, group photograph
1330 - 1700 - Afternoon track activity & Skid Pan
1700 - 1800 - Pack down event, load vehicles and dispersal
There will bring a selection of nibbles, and the normal lunch will be provided. I encourage you all to bring something if you can, bake cakes, nibbles for everybody to enjoy if you’re able.
We are working away in the background on the finer details of the day, and we are also planning to conduct an online volunteer briefing webinar approximately 7 - 10 days prior to the event to confirm all the relevant arrangements and this will be another opportunity for you to ask any other questions you may have. I will send out the invite for this with as much notice as I can.
As always, a massive thank you from me, this particular event in the calendar is always very popular and impactful with our beneficiary audience and just simply isn’t possible without your wonderful help & assistance.
If you are free on either or both of the above dates then please do let me know, also let me know what role you would most like to carry out and I will slot you in where I can, it’s not always possible to give you exactly what you want but I do try, feel free to give me a few options.
Genuinely looking forward to seeing as many of you there as possible, one of my personal favourite events in the diary!
