VIN Decoding

I’m new to this forum. I have owned an nb2 and a nc2.

I just aquired a heavily used but still great running with tons of potential vr limited.

It was built in 1995 December

And my vin ends 1804

She was very disrespected as you can see but I’ll be bring her back to her glory

Just wondering where the vins list started and ended PXL_20210920_230012232|666x500

I have a VR ltd combination A with a vin that ends 1804

Just trying to find how really in production was my vehicle

Na8c401804

The first VR A was probably NA8C-401726, buitl in November 1995. Your was built on the 7th December, the 7th day of full production. During Decembr 1995, most of the production was for VR-Limited; there were a few “standard” cars intermingled. About 30-31 cars a day were built.

An example of a single days production, Monday 18th December (the factory made no cars on sundays).

Thankyou :+1::+1:

Hi, noticed there has been no activity on this thread for 9 months but am keen to understand the date of my VR manufacture. VIN - NA8C-403396. Looking through the thread it is probably at towards the end of the build dates.

According to ts-export.com

29 Feb 1996

Hi all- can you help please? I’ve got a Eunos 1.8 VR-Ltd- NA8C-403682
It’s 2 tone- Excellent Green and below this, a much lighter green. I bought it two-tone, did Mazda produce the two-tone or someone re-sprayed? See pics.

I adore this car but it’s off the road due to London ULEZ, and I’ve got an ND now. It’s looking like I’ll sell the Eunos, very reluctantly, love the car- any idea of worth? It’ll need some cosmetic work but it DID start first time for many years. It’s done 113k miles.
The bonnet will need respray, indicator light cover broken etc.

Thanks for help!

Hi Claire - Not sure what’s going on here. The VIN puts it within the VR-Limited build dates I think (but I’m sure ‘ast’ will confirm/clarify).

However, definitely NOT all original paint - VR-Limiteds were either solid Art Vin Rouge (Combination A) or Excellent Green (Combination B). Your silver-ey green is a later addition.

But the seats are also non-original - bog standard cloth NA seats, rather than the black leather with embroidered green ‘Roadster’ logo that came as standard with the VR-Bs. Nor does it have the original aluminium handbrake handle/ gearknob/gearshift surround, or steering wheel. I’m not sure I can even see the original teardrop speaker cover door cards. All of which may of course have been replaced down the years. Those look like the original 5-spoke Enkeis though.
In its current state, it’s losing quite a few ‘VR-Limited’ brownie points if you want to sell it as such.

Could make a decent restoration project…stripped nut and bolt from the ground up plus sill rot…again…as they do eventually. What we see rotting with those cars is invariably the proverbial tip of the iceberg…and most know it. Not to mention a brake rebuild.
Scrap spares/repairs or maybe a few hundred to take it off your hands for a project.e
I’ve blew 5k on mine over 2 years…say no more.
There comes a cross over point where they are of more value dismantled than as a whole.
Yes…been there.
Twice!
Good luck though. It’s only worth what someone will pay now.
No desire to be rude, but the poor wee thing shouts of general neglect Claire, and that is how people will price it. It’s brutal out there.

thanks guys, yes, it’s definitely a project, and I’m sure lots of original parts went a long ago… it’s a bit tatty in parts, but nothing major, and very much loved in any case. I had some welding done couple of years ago, it usually sailed through MOT but hit a spot then where it needed more doing… I’ve got the speaker covers, I’ll put them back on, but not sure if they’re original ‘teardrop’…I’ll look.

It is a VR-Limited

But its missing so much. Two tone efforts back in the day were often done to hide bodged rust repairs, and I can see a pretty hideous looking sill there.

Strangely, besides dumping the seats, the original sunvisors have gone. Assuming its got the 4.3 diff still, someone might want it for a track car, but its days of being returned to VR spec have gone…

Ive had 4 combintion b vrs. Everyone suffered from rust issues i bet thats why yours was painted.
Most of the vr bits seem to be missing. Apart from the wheels, which arent that popular.
If its not too rotten id imagine its worth about 1500,2k
