A quick catch up of jobs done since the last update.
It’s now running a map from Maurici at CleaR Motorsport, so after an enjoyable few hours on a Saturday morning refining things on-road, it’s now responding and reacting as it should have done from the factory!
Refurb done and tyres rotated. I settled on ‘shadow chrome’ finish, which I think suits the car, wheel design and Soul Red very well
Then I popped the Zunsport lower grille in, which I’m very pleased with. Looks the part and should help keep any road debris at bay
The next job was one that cropped up unexpectedly. Not one of my usual preventative maintenance or improvement jobs… something had gone wrong! I lost any speaker output the week after the Spring Rally. Checked everything over and turned out to be the TAU (tuner and amp unit) that had failed. I covered that here, for anyone interested!
Now with that issue resolved, I went ahead and fitted the upgraded Android Auto/Apple Carplay module and went for the USB-C version to benefit from some faster phone charging speeds. All fairly straightforward, after consulting some useful online guides and videos. Enough people have done it by now I suppose, to iron out any issues and nail a repeatable process
I was going to fit the wiring for a reversing camera while the back of the screen was accessible, but I couldn’t seem to get the bypass loom to connect properly. So I’ll have to return to that another time…
But whilst most of the dash was out, I popped in some Alcantara gaitors to match the dash piece I fitted last year:
