A quick catch up of jobs done since the last update.
It’s now running a map from Maurici at CleaR Motorsport, so after an enjoyable few hours on a Saturday morning refining things on-road, it’s now responding and reacting as it should have done from the factory! ![]()
Refurb done and tyres rotated. I settled on ‘shadow chrome’ finish, which I think suits the car, wheel design and Soul Red very well ![]()
Then I popped the Zunsport lower grille in, which I’m very pleased with. Looks the part and should help keep any road debris at bay ![]()
The next job was one that cropped up unexpectedly. Not one of my usual preventative maintenance or improvement jobs… something had gone wrong!
I lost any speaker output the week after the Spring Rally. Checked everything over and turned out to be the TAU (tuner and amp unit) that had failed. I covered that here, for anyone interested!
Now with that issue resolved, I went ahead and fitted the upgraded Android Auto/Apple Carplay module and went for the USB-C version to benefit from some faster phone charging speeds. All fairly straightforward, after consulting some useful online guides and videos. Enough people have done it by now I suppose, to iron out any issues and nail a repeatable process ![]()
I was going to fit the wiring for a reversing camera while the back of the screen was accessible, but I couldn’t seem to get the bypass loom to connect properly. So I’ll have to return to that another time…
But whilst most of the dash was out, I popped in some Alcantara gaitors to match the dash piece I fitted last year:
