Warning Bleep not working

  1. My model of MX-5 is: Mk 4 Icon 2016
  2. I’m based near: Abingdon
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: I have just parked up, got out of the car and l thought locked it and walked away only to discover that I had not turned off the engine and the car didn’t’t lock. There were no warning bleeps. What can cause this to happen? Thanks

Sounds normal to me. For what ever reason you did not turn the engine off so it will not lock with the engine running. Why not try it deliberately to see if this is true.
I see no reason for it to beep but please update if you do as I suggest.

Hi.Thanks for reply. I not sure whether my query was best put in writing. According to the Handbook there should be a warning bleep if you get out of the car with the key in your hand and the engine still running. This is not happening.

Next time we are out in ours I will see what happens if we do the same.

Mine definitely beeps if I shut the door and walk away with the engine running, no idea why yours doesn’t though.
