I’m thinking about turbo charging my 5, and have been looking at the turbos to get on ebay, all turbo’s I’ve had before have been water cooled, and likewise is the TD04 I’ve been looking at getting. But I can’t see on any turbo install pics I’ve found any plumbing for the water.
Find ‘Mighty Car Mods’ on youtube, they are annoying but did fit a water cooled turbo to a Mk1
I’ve seen them, thought they were quite funny to be honest! But what I meant with my question was that I’ve not seen any plumbing for the water cooling pipes on other installs, and wondered if people just didn’t both plumbing them in? Obviously not having the turbo water cooled will help cook the bearing quicker and degrade the oil more…
There is a guy selling a turbo mx5 on ebay.
Maybe ask him a bit of info as he did a diy turbo install.
