Waterless Car Cleaning

Ever thought of washing your car without water?

Developed for washing aircraft in the desert, Waterless Car Cleaning from Onedrywash will wash and wax your vehicle using no water in the process. You simply spray on, spread over the surface and then wipe off - one product, one process.

Each 500ml bottle with drywash the entire exterior including glass and wheels, 6 or 7 times depending on vehicle size and at 175 Litres per wash using a hosepipe, by the time you have finished the bottle you have saved at least 1,000 Litres of water, and washed no harmful chemicals down the drain. There is no waste and the micro-fibre cloths in the kit get washed and used again and again. The aircraft wax left on the surface is dirt repellent and will improve fuel efficiency.

All this for under £2 a wash.

Not much different then giving it a going over with Megs’ detailer spray if its just a bit dusty, but I doubt it works too well on a properly dirty car, as presumably its not so much the stuff in the bottle doing the work of loosening the dirty but more importantly the cloths doing the job of lifting it off the surface.

And of course you will need plenty of water to clean the microfibre clothes properly, especially to rinse out any grit so you don’t scratch the paint next time!

So, ideal for aircraft in the desert, but not so good for a muddy car in Suffolk… Wink

As someone who rarely wet washes my shiny 5 (3 or 4 of times a year at most) , the secret is simple, keep in the garage, don’t go out in the wet or drive in any mud, and after each use give it a quick go over with detailer spray.

I have been using waterless cleaner for a while now and have mentioned it on a couple of other threads, i may have started a thread come to think of it.

I bought mine off ebay and i think it is great for use when the car is not covered in mud, but needs a clean to remove dirt and dust or when it has been out in a rain shower, it saves getting the hose/ bucket out and i can clean the whole car, wheels included, in about 20 mins.

It is not a substitute for the bucket but a good alternative at times, it  really does not scratch the paint and leaves a good shine.

Any excuseWink

I use a detailer who uses a waterless product, were very strong on water saving out here.

The finish is amazing, no swirl marks, no scratches, just a brilliant [excuse the intended pun] shine.

The company is called Ecowash and I believe that they are starting franchises in Europe.

I do like the two tone effect of your car Geoff.   Is the lower half of the car white or an off white colour similar to ivory?

Polly, it’s Chaste White Mazda colour PT
