Hi Scottishfiver,
Oh, that is brilliant news
Hope you have a fabulous time on the Steamer and enjoy every minute!
JMK
All done on carefully balanced diet of Full Scottish breakfasts, deep fried pies & pizzas, haggis, oats, Irnbru, and lamb bhunas. and Tunnock Tea Cakes, and JD.
JD? You are drinking Murican whiskey? Wash your mouth out with a health dose of Laphroaig.
Just the smell of Scotch somehow turns my stomach. Always has. Mingin’.
Glad to hear you are on the mend and have obvs not lost your appetite
High Scottie iam glad to hear for you your good news. Luckily my cancer did not spread to the bones.
from the Plastic Jock Jimbo.
Big benchmark Oncology interview a few days back. Suffice to say I was bricking it a few days before…right off my food & sleep.
Never the less, PSA cancer cell count hold at .08 of 1…which as you mostly know kicked off at nearly 400 a while back to Remission is still there. In actual fact, the cancer hot spots have healed to reveal…would you credit it…new calcified bone growth a bit like filling in wee skeleton pot holes of the microscopic variety. How long for is up to Mother Nature & biology. But, every day is a "silver gift"day.
Our sail to Arran will be a “Golden Day” for me as will the birth of my Grandson next month, and our week’s break to beautiful Bamburgh Castle on Sunday. For me the N.E. is so underrated. More cosy hamlets and bendy wall publets than you can shake a stick at. In addition, I’ve been prescribe da new ( megabucks!) Fandango morning pill to take in place of the horrid monthly " Ab Stabbings" which left me pretty out of it some days.
Life is really good and I’m looking forward to stretching the little Turbo’d Swift as it is designed…but with a measily 2,500 R.P.M. “overdrive” at 74 mph! That gear never gets used going urban. So Guys & Guyettes…I’ll be a bit “slow head” but “steady as I go” when I see you. Not long now. Bless you all.
Guys…please please get checked out. It’s all there for you. Live long and prosper!
Brilliant news Robin.
Great to hear your health appears to be improving, long may it remain so
Thank you.
Sooooooo pleased to read this Fiver - I’m a C survivor too!
Enjoy Arran and the SWIFT!!
In just 2 weeks now, son will be driving me down to Premier Inn for Friday event. Scary how time shoots in. I’m doing more walking to get as fit as possible! It’s the puffy COPD that’s the restrictor…but it’s fine if I pace it. Look forward to seeing you deck scrubbing, press ganged, flog worthy Jack Tars and spice a main brace or two!
We’re all organised (I think!), looking forward to catching up and the trip
I spotted the Waverley last weekend outside the science museum from my hotel room. Wishing all the best (and calm seas) for Scottish fiver’s trip!
Sail day so called “forecasts” look like wee showers and a bit of light windy pops. But trust me…if we are sailing into a wind you’d be lucky to keep standing open decks anyhow! I’d strongly advise good windproofs with hoods! Been there, done it, trust me. It’s been priceless sometimes watching the ill prepped! The Clyde Estuary head winds on open water at 14 plus knots take no prisoners.
Scotland innit…
There’s no such thing as ‘bad weather’, Only bad clothing!
I feel a trip to an outdoors clothing emporium coming on, are we talking the full Monty head to toe including wellies
Does the MX5OC baseball cap go under, or over the sou’wester?
Nah Art. Just the equivalent of decent windproofs you’d pick for say a bit of hill walking…at most. Keeping dry and therefor warm is the name of the game, but can easily be peeled off for sitting inside & even rolled up. She has very cosy and comfortable restaurants downstairs…very well appointed throughout actually with the emphasis on comforts.
