Waving to fellow-mx5 drivers must be made law

thats the way the life goes. Things seems to You quite predictible and then something unexpected happens which cheer You up. <img src="/forum/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/original/emotion-1.gif" alt="Smile" title="Smile" border="0" /> I like that feeling, its just sad it does not happen more often. …sorry guys for double post… (bloody internet!!! grrrr…)

Hi, I haven’t had my MX5 for long but will make a point of acknowledging other owners, especially if I get up to BristolSmile

Had return waves from a silver mk1 at Colchester and a red mk 2.5 on the Orwell Bridge yesterday afternoon. Thanks peepsBig Smile

Good for you, you two strangers very happy and that’s more than most do in a day, i’m certainly going to give it a go Smile

Could have sworn that there was a Sunlight Silver Mk3 tooting like crazy with both occupapants waving like idiots at you - only yesterday Confused

I had a lovely wave today from of all things a Triumph Herald convertible!

Obviously a family out for a pleasant afternoon’s drive on a glorious day here in Worcester.

The young ladies in the back were obviously very happy and were hell bent on waving enthusiastically to every open-top car they saw Thumbs up

well, i’ve had my car a year now and never had a single wave

today however, on the A421 at about 10am got a wave from a red Mk1, and a silver Mk2/Mk3, sorry didnt notice in time so couldnt tell the difference

than on my way home about 7pm on the A428 i think, another wave from a green Mk1

i should leave the county more often i think

I still remember my first one, Ash ::ahem:

Ignored by a mk3 today… puzzled look by silver mk2 (no 1) and then a smile from silver mk2 (no2) a little later.
Yesterday, did have a wave from a chap in dark green (don’t think it was BRG) mk2 S’ plate on the A44 at Crossgates. Well it was a cross bet. a wave and thumbs up. That’ll do me just fine Big Smile

Drove to work with the top down, waved at a blue MX5 got a puzzled look and no wave back, but arrived at work windswept and happyBig Smile

Our bosses must be glad that we turn up in a good mood Big Smile

Although enjoy driving my 5 so much, could be tempted to keep going and not turn up at all!!  Wink

I waved 3 times today…on instruction of this thread lol

  1. went to flash the lights but just sprayed water everywhere…still getting used to controls being the opposite side Embarassed

  2. pulled out behind another mk1, driven by a woman who acknowledged with a huge rear facing wave, which put me in a really good mood!

  3. waved at an old timer in his mk1 and got a bit of a nod.

Ā

not bad for 1 drive home Big Smile

mk3 driving towards hanley from leek on the A53. Silver car, roof down today shades on.

Message for you:

WAVE YOU MISSERABLE PERSONĀ  :(Ā  - multiple waves, multiple disgusted looks. yes i have spikey hair and yes i’m young but i’m enjoying my car and your being stone faced! SHAME ON YOU

Ā Waved at and to Green MK1 on the M4 Today just after the roadworks

Ā

Been waving at loads but mainly get just blank looks

Ā

Come on miseries get with the program.

I know how you feel, i’m 26 and get the same reaction, also noticed that woman drivers never wave !!! my apologies to aĀ silverĀ mark1 mx in Barry southĀ WalesĀ who popped there lights at me i was too slow to react !!!

My belief is there are 2 types of MX5 driver, 1. the ones who really love their car and appreciate every part of it, 2. people who just buy one because they are in a mid life crisis or think they ā€œjust look coolā€, very annoying to think of all those poor MX5’s being driven by miserable morons !!!

Ā

sorry for the rant Wink

i was just about to say the same thing,

i am as you can see a young lady driver but when i wave at other women they never wave back. I will keep trying and hopefully one day i might get a wave back.

Not giving up on waving just yet Waving

Ā I understand the theory of owning a '5 for different reasons, but, don’t give up on us ladies we do wave back, especially here in Bristol…don’t we Lynne Waving

Sunday 20th June:
cambridgeshire (Papworth Everard by-pass)… mk1 driven by bloke… no wave.
worcestershire (road leading to Pershore) … mk2 driven by bloke… a wave.
There is NO rhyme nor reason.

People say mk3s never wave… YES THEY DO
People say women never wave … YES THEY DO

Again, i have been ignored by all marks and both sexes. Likewise, i have waves from all varieties as well.

Waving

IĀ wont give up, just a little disheartening when no wave back, also feel like a weirdo waving at random woman lol Big Smile
