Robbie Marsh and the Eastern team open the gates for the 2013 National Rally at Sandringham Estate in Norfolk
We are delighted after months of planning to be able to formally invite all MX-5 Owners Club members to attend the 2013 Owners Club’s National Rally at the Sandringham on Sunday 29th September.
Sandringham is the much-loved country retreat of Her Majesty The Queen, and has been the private home of four generations of British monarchs since 1862. The house, set in 24 hectares of stunning gardens, is perhaps the most famous stately home in Norfolk and is at the heart of the 8,000-hectare Sandringham Estate.
Sandringham provides a perfect location for a National Rally. The large event field for the Rally is just a short walk from the House, Museum, Gardens and visitor centre where club members will receive discounted entry all weekend.
For those of you planning to make more than just a day trip to East Anglia, the Sandringham Rally weekend kicks off on the Saturday with the opportunity to explore some of our fine, all be it flat countryside and visit some places of interest. There will be a selection of downloadable pre-planned routes to follow starting and ending at the Sandringham visitor centre or you can explore the area and surroundings from your own itinerary. Maybe spend the day further afield exploring the Fens, heaths of the Brecks or the North Norfolk Coast, or take in the historic cities and towns of Norwich, Peterborough, Ely or Cambridge all within easy reach. East Anglia has a wealth of tourist attractions to offer you on your trip to the Rally.
Knights Hill Hotel & Spa just outside Kings Lynn plays host to the Gala Dinner on the evening of Saturday 28th September. The Hotel’s “Great Barn” will be the venue for an evening of fine dining, music, entertainment and dancing. Tickets for the dinner can be booked by post using the form on your STHT cover sheet or visit the Club store online at www.mx5oc.co.uk/store to book.
Accommodation at Knights Hill can be booked directly with the Hotel by calling 01553 675566 and quoting the special Reference number 11761 to get preferential room rates for courtyard and house rooms.
The rally programme will kick off about 11am (gates from 10.30am), giving members the opportunity to enjoy a leisurely breakfast or the drive to the venue.
The MX-5 Owners Club National Rally is the largest annual gathering of MX-5s in the UK and we hope Sandringham will be the biggest and best Rally yet. The Rally is open to all owners and enthusiasts of the MX-5 and again the event is offered with no charge to Club members as part of your membership, ticketed entry will be available for non-members and guests.
There’ll be a great selection of National Rally offers events and deals to be had, car competitions, your favourite MX-5 and local stall holders and traders, club merchandise plus lots more that you may not be expecting! There promises to be something to interest everyone.
