Welding rust

  1. My model of MX-5 is: NB 05 plate
  2. I’m based near: Northampton
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: I recently bought my MX-5 and took it for a full service to get it checked out. They mentioned that there is some rust on the underside but it’s nothing to worry about. There is also some rust/paint bubbling in the wheel arches. I need some advice on whether I need the underside repaired and how would I go about getting that and the wheel arches repaired as I have never had this done before. TIA

If the wheel arches have gone, assume the sills as well, £1000 a side. But also check the front chassis rails under the engine. The underside itself is usually not problematic.

The welding is not the expensive bit. The paint is.
