So this weekend I’ve renewed my insurance with fj and I think they have surpassed themselves on value I have now insured on a classic multi car policy the following cars
1991 eunos
1994 mitsubishi pajreo lwb 2800td
1996 toyota rav4 (it qualified as a classic last month)
All of them are fully comp have show cover the 4x4 's also have off rd cover
They are are also covered and I think this is the best bit on a like for like replacement or repair not the market value
Oh and it’s for the Mrs and I
And the total cost is £437 I’d say a bit of a bargin
It was quite funny when I realised having given them the mileages that between the 3 cars in the last 12 months I’ve done a total of 1700 miles with the eunos having done the most
I have to say I do not understand how these insurance companies work - having had my Mk2.5 Sport insured with Footman James for £134,I asked them for a quote on my 2008 MK3 2.0,the premium quoted shot up to nearly £300!!! - so I tried Lancaster and they came up with a more reasonable £185! I remain puzzled at these huge variations. So I think the best advice is do your research thoroughly for the best deal to suit you personally.
All of you are making me feel like I’m paying the earth - 1 years NCB @ 26 years old - £825 for my 2002 MK2.5 1.6 - I can’t wait for mine to drop down to this low!!
It’s weird. I’m asking around after my renewal price shot up. And quoted prices seem to differ day to day, sometimes, for the same quote from the same broker! Finally gave up and settled with Adrian Flux for £164 but it includes my 19 year NCD protection (which saved me last year, although I had a years renewal after that with only a small price increase), sole driver and no commuting or business use and 6000m restriction as it’s the second car.
It was cheap in comparison to some of the others I’d had; £1500+ and that was just for my previous 1.2L Clio but the above was my renewal price with Hastings for my MX5 so I snatched their hand off. Full comp with legal fees and recovery.
