West Cumbria

Looking for somewhere to overnight in this area (in October) between Maryport and Ulverston, reasonable quality, nice food and a good local ale are the important points.

I have looked at quite a few places/reviews using Google Maps however a personal recommendation is normally better.

If you do Booking dot com try here below.
We stayed last year for 3 nights, read the reviews. Old quirky pub, basic furniture, large rooms, very large bathroom, we didn’t like the roll top bath though, too big and awkward. They do rooms without that option I believe. Very reasonably priced with a cooked breakfast. We ate once in the evening which was lovely and freshly cooked food, probably a little expensive but worth it.
Parking is now I think off-road in the car park at the side. When we visited they turned that into a sitting area so we had to park on the road. No problems there as it’s a quiet lane most of the time.
