What car is this?

For those of us of a certain age! Clue: there is a British connection but not sold in the UK (as far as I know).

Austin Apache…. (?)

You are very, very close! Check out the badge just behind the wheel arch.

Looks like a Leyland badge.

Sort of!

I think it’s a Triumph.

Austin hubcaps.

Yes just spotted that.

Austin Tasman

Nope! Not easy to spot from the photo but it’s LH drive.

A little searching brings up, Spanish built Austin Victoria I think.

I’ve seen a couple of these maybe Australian cars if I remember on a YouTube channel called ‘Old Classic Car’ they were Apaches.

I think MickAP is correct! I think the Apache was built in South Africa and the shell was used in the Victoria. I think Victoria is Spanish for Victory.

Ofiaich

Absolutely correct. A joint venture between Authi & British Leyland. Spotted last year on our MX-5 road trip just south of the Spanish Pyrenees. More information here:

The rear end looks very Triumph to me. Bit like my old Mk2 2000.

The attached article refers to the Michelotti designed Triumph Dolomite! The Dolomite Sprint was supposed to be pretty good but I have never driven one.

Great cars back in the day and quite collectable now. They used to warp cylinder heads though.

Until the ‘reveal’ I was going to say a cross between an Austin 1100 and a Triumph!…
