What have you done to your MX-5 today? (Part 1)

Its parked out on the street, not directly underneath anything. Not ideal

Gave it some love today being St.Valentines day. Came home from working away all week and replaced a couple of corroded power steering pipes purchased from MX5 parts

Drove it - first time since fitting lowering spring and pleased to see it doesnā€™t feel any harsher just a bit lower. Exactly what I wanted!

Debadged the back. Left the big one on cos thereā€™s a hole. Looks less badgey.

Busy couple off days changed all drop links ready for lowering springs need to know if they would come undone ā€¦nope rusted on hence new onesā€¦ Replaced anti roll bar bushes well 3 any way one nut on the front wonā€™t undo will tackle on other day and fitted rx8 steering wheel ā€¦ Plus rx8 intermitent wiper armā€¦might get to drive it one day

Have done my first play with a lump of aluminium angle. So that I can refit the interior.

Iā€™m stuck, itā€™s keep the aluminium in place and try to refit the interior, or just leave it without the interior, but just cover everything neatly in faux leather.

Iā€™m considering this.

image MOT, oil change & filter. Only a couple of advisories to sort out sometime when the weather is better. Also Re-taxed it Ā£265 for the year is silly money (quarter of the value of the car) unfortunately has to be got tho. The price of toys. Worth it just for the smile factor.
Donā€™t know if I have posted this correctly as I canā€™t find a just post thingy.

First proper drive out with local car club ST Davidā€™s Day run.

Who organised the weather?, full marks.

After being bitten by the bug and buying my first MX5 yesterday, the very first thing i did today was to unblock those drain holes and get a bluetooth cassette tape adapter.

I tried out the space saver spare tyre & jack combo Iā€™ve been carrying around for the last three months.

Of course it was the rear tyre that went pop so I had to change the front tyre for the spare and then fit the standard wheel to the rear axle so as not to overheat the LSD.

I must say it went on very well. Very well that is in the pissing rain and dark at the side of the M11!

Went for the first top down blast of the year, home to Winter Hill, Belmont, Rivington and back home.

Fitted a Moss Cobalt silencer. Lovely bit of kit - too nice to hide away under the car!

2nd service, 20700 miles. The only things replaced were oil and filter, but taking it home via the scenic route, there was definitely more oomph available than when it went in. Are they likely to have loaded an improved set of parameters to the ECU?

Got sent a video report of the underneath while on the ramp, apparently I am going to need new tyres soon.

They lent me a Mazda 2 while it was in, sadly I think it qualifies as the second most boring car I have driven.

I havenā€™t drive the newish Mazda2, only the circa 2010 model which i thought was a hoot!
What was the most boring?

The most boring to date has to have been a Ford Escort, the first of the front-wheel-drive ones (not sure they still called it an Escort?), was given it as a courtesy car many years ago while mine was repaired after someone drove into me. Not only did it have no character whatsoever, it seemed like all driving pleasure had been deliberately designed out of it.

Made an appointment for windscreen repair.
I saw the stone flick up from the lorry and thought ā€œohā€¦!ā€

Fitted the leather gear stick and handbrake gaiters to complement the modified sport gear knob ( now 5 gear ) and also hung a reminder on the steering wheel so as I donā€™t forget the Ctek is connected :scream:

Gave both mine a shampoo!

Nowt, it aint been out of the garage since the 16th Sept.
It WILL be coming out this weekend if the weather is dry enough.
