What have you done to your MX-5 today? (Part 1)

Well, lo and behold they do nowt, but at least it’s a little bit of discrete personalisation.

Yes, my car is called Dwight. The number plate ends in DWY and the American version of The Office is one of the best things to have ever been on television.

Thanks pal! No wonder my mother accuses me of being a magpie- was just staring at it for ages afterwards going ‘ooh, shiny’

That’s very impressive as a finished result. I love it when black gloss paint is so shiny it’s difficult to tell what colour it really is as it does such a good job of reflecting, that’s all we can see.

Hard work paid off there.

Yeah I avoided headers due to the MOT or had to pay a lot of money for catted headers.

Only wanted a little crackle on downshifts but I think maybe the money is better spent on a different vehicle somewhere down the line. :+1:

Thanks mate! Must admit, it has highlighted one or two wee dinks in the paint that’ll need a proper touch up- next job on the list but otherwise, the clay’s brought her up beautiful & glossy. Not bad for 3hrs on a lovely sunny afternoon

I’m assuming you got it remapped afterwards? Not just for the performance gains, but to stop the check engine light coming on?

I can’t blame you. MK3’s are sexy as, even when dirty.

Hells yes, they are

Indeed, it was all part of the fast road package fitted by Nick and his mate at Skuzzle in 2019.
Few other map tweaks too.
A really enjoyable day out.
Sadly gone now but works at Demec Car Services in Basingstoke.
Still a 5 enthusiast by the look of it. :+1: :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m in Central Scotland, there don’t seem to be any MX-5 specialists around here!

My second choice (due to distance) was Rodders.
When allowed, treat yourself and make a weekend of it!

Sounds like a plan!

Me too.
No there are none!

Spent all day Sunday fitting a new BBR manifold to my NC. Whoever told you it’s easy, is talking waffle! They should try it when the heat shield bolt, nearest the bulkhead, is rounded off!!
Anyway, many hours later and a Pipercross filter added, it would be an understatement to say that I’m please with the result. Combined with my already installed Cobalt back box (standard mid-pipe), it burbles and pops really nicely. Even had a little light show (flames) on the over-run.:grin::grin:

It would be a good business opportunity if I had the money or skills!

I think there out of stock they are for the ND yet go to moss selling on eBay and they got them looks as your going to have to give them a phone call and good luck with that I’ve tried to call them 6 times so far no luck

Did you go for decat or catted?

Seen it - needs to be PDI’d, but I collect on Thursday!! Lowered suspension and exhaust fitted. Have the standard exhaust and springs in my garage now…

if anyone interested…
